Gala Benefits CLU Programs

On Saturday evening, November 8, the Community Leaders Association hosted its 29th Annual Auction in the Gilbert Sports and Fitness Center at California Lutheran University. The Violet and Gold Gala provides the funding for important faculty grants and CLU student scholarships.

The Violet and Gold Gala began with cocktails and a silent auction at 5:30 p.m. Dinner, student entertainment and a live auction followed. The oral and silent auctions featured fun-filled vacation packages, jewelry, home entertainment items, dining experiences, golf packages and professional sporting event tickets. Tex Ward, who served as general manager of the Conejo Recreation and Park District for 38 years and helped preserve the area's open space, served as honorary chair. KLCU general manager, Mary Olson, served as the program emcee. Visit our sponsors page.

Proceeds from the auction benefit CLU academic programs. Over the years, the association has donated more than $1.6 million toward equipment and technology enhancements. Last year, CLA distributed $65,000 in faculty grants, $9,000 in scholarships and $4,000 to a scholarship endowment.
