Charles Maxey earned his Ph. D. in Labor and Industrial Relations from the University of Illinois in 1982. Prior to joining the faculty at CLU in 1991, he held academic appointments at Northwestern University , Loyola University of Chicago, and the University of Southern California , where he served as Senior Associate Dean of the Graduate School of Business Administration. He also served as Visiting Professor of Human Resource Management at the Sasin Graduate School of Business in Bangkok Thailand . Dr. Maxey has numerous publications in both academic and practitioner journals.   His recent research activities involve economic and workforce development issues in the Ventura County region of southern California and assessments of the quality of life in that region.
