  • Annual Holiday Wellness Fair – All faculty are invited to the Annual Wellness Fair, Tuesday, Nov. 27, 11am-3pm, Roth Nelson Room.There will be information on tips to reduce stress during the busy holiday season, helpful healthy recipes, and raffle prizes for those who attend.   • The Center for Teaching and Learning’s lunch series this Thursday, Nov. 29, from 12:15 to 1pm, is in SBET 127. Michael Shaw (Physics/Bioengineering) will present "Teaching Online Material: The Scale of the Universe." Lunch will be served.   • Christmas Festival Concerts, Friday, Nov. 30, and Saturday, Dec. 1, at 8pm and Sunday, Dec. 2 at 4pm, Samuelson Chapel. For more information, contact the Music Department at x3306 or visit CLU Music.

  • The President’s Diversity Council is accepting applications for Faculty Development Mini-Grants of up to $1,500 and Guest Speaker Grants of up to $300.  The purpose of each grant is to enhance the understanding and appreciation of multiculturalism, diversity and/or global society at CLU.  The applications can be found on their website at http://www.callutheran.edu/multicultural/campus_diversity.php.  For more information, contact Juanita Hall at jahall@clunet.edu .
  • The Community Leaders Association (CLA) is dedicated to enriching CLU and promoting its interaction with the community and local businesses. To this end, CLA has funds available to support faculty/departmental grants. Appropriate proposals include cultural events and seminars, scientific research equipment, and all requests in between. The application deadline is Dec. 14. The application form and rubric are on the Academic Affairs website under Financial Resources.   • The CLU Bookstore is looking for a faculty member to serve on the Bookstore Advisory Council. This council reviews and recommends bookstore operating policies and procedures, and provides guidance to the bookstore. The commitment is 4 meetings per year (2 per semester).  If you are interested, please email acaffairs@callutheran.edu.
  • The Pearson Library has partnered with Literati/Credo, which provides the Credo Referencedatabase geared to undergraduate students and creates customized Information Literacy Tutorials that offer guidance on starting research, evaluating sources, plagiarism and much more. Two tutorials focus on Rodes Fishburne’s Going to See the Elephant, this year’s Freshmen Seminar common reader.  Some tutorials include embedded interactive quizzes. Consider linking the tutorials to your Blackboard pages and please share these with students in your classes. Contact Henri Mondschein mondsche@callutheran.edu X3012 for more information.
