French majors from CLU have entered careers as educators, travel specialists, translators, interpreters for governmental organizations, international business, the Peace Corps and church mission work.
CLU's French curriculum offers a technology enhanced program that is designed to provide students with a strong competency in the French language and an understanding of the French cultures throughout the world. Emphasising an interactive learning environment and maintaining small class sessions, the curriculum is based in conversation and composition as well as film, literature, phonetics and linquistics.
Majors and non-majors alike have the opportunity to participat in Study Abroad programs in Paris, Aix-en-Provence and Avignon or, by arrangement, francophone Canada for one semester or the academic year.

The growing field of international management has attracted graduates who have combined their French degree with business administration or international affairs studies at CLU. Graduates in French are attractive to employers not only in the United States, but also in Canada, Africa and the European Community.
