FALL HIGHLIGHTS

Cal Lutheran’s athletic teams continued to make their presence known in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), with 188 athletes competing this fall. Eleven athletes were named to the First Team All-Conference (four in football, two each in men’s soccer, women’s soccer and volleyball, and one in men’s water polo) while 18 athletes made it to the Second Team All-Conference.

Football
01: Kingsmen Football – Fall term saw Ben McEnroe take the reigns of Cal Lu’s football program and lead the team to a powerhouse season with a 5-1 record in the SCIAC. Cal Lutheran’s impressive record included a key victory against nationally 12th ranked Occidental, leaving the Kingsmen to share the conference championship with Redlands.
Cross Country
02: Regals and Kingsmen Cros Country - Both men's and women's cross country finished fifth in the SCIAC. Juniors Brett Siddle and Jessica Schroeder earned a trip to the NCAA West Region Championship after each finished Top-20.
Water Polo
03: Kingsmen Water Polo – Men’s water polo saw the most wins in the history of the program this season, with a 4-3 conference record. Sophomore Matt Heagy (All-American last year) scored 70 goals, placing him in the national Top-10 for scoring. Overall, the team finished fourth in the conference.
Men's Soccer
05: Kingsmen Soccer – After a season that included a streak of six shut-outs in a row, the Kingsmen were named co-champions of the SCIAC finals, tying Redlands with a 12-2 record. Goalie Chris Thompson had the 11th best goals against average in the country.
Volleyball 04: Regals Voleyball – Fielding a young team with no seniors, the Regals’ strength and skill still led to a well-earned second place finish in the SCIAC.
06: Regals Soccer – Finishing fourth in the regular season, the Regals went on to win the SCIAC tournament and a trip to the NCAA playoffs for the first time since 2000.
