THE NEED COFFEEHOUSE

Campus is anything but quiet every other Wednesday when The Need coffee house opens its doors. Student-run and open late, The Need reigns as a favorite place to hang with friends and hear music, from 10 p.m. into the night. With student performers and name talent, poetry jams and stand-up comics, students come by for coffee and entertainment. As sophomore Erik Mathre (The Need's student manager) explains, "The coffee's inexpensive and the vibe is perfect for settling in after finishing studying for the night. People hang out with their friends, then move on and hang out with another group of friends, brought together by entertainment."

Here are just a handful of events recently held at The Need :

  • Mary Arden Collins
  • Alternative rock from student Ryan McDermott
  • Homecoming Court "Family Feud"
  • Karaoke on Campus
  • Afterwards indie rock
  • Pumpkin carving for Halloween
  • Open Mic Night for spoken word, singing, or stand-up comedy
  • Improv Comedy Night
  • Musician Wes Rodgers
