Ten Cal Lutheran students spent fall Service Day caring for animals at the Ventura County Humane Society this past September. In particular, the students were called upon to play with these animals — lavishing affection and having some fun. As one student described it, "What surprised me was how important a role I played as a volunteer. I gave the animals the attention they needed, and the love they deserved." More than 220 members of the Cal Lutheran community participated in Service Day, working 17 different projects at area senior centers, food banks, schools, and parks.
