ACROSS THE BOSPHORUS
This past May, religion professor Julia Fogg led a group of Cal Lutheran students to Turkey, on a tour "In the Footsteps
of Saint Paul." From the Grand Bazaar of Istanbul to the caves of Cappadocia, 17 students learned about the culture and people of this
region steeped in history - visiting churches, mosques, and Turkish palaces. During the two-week journey, the Cal Lu students traced the
route where St. Paul preached almost two thousand years ago, visiting Alexandria Troas, Sardis, Hierapolis, Ephesus, Laodicea, Antioch, and
Aphrodisias. About 100 Cal Lu students opted for longer-term study abroad opportunities this past year, traveling to Europe, Asia, Africa,
Australia, and South America.
