INTERNING ROOMATES

Christy Sutphen and Alanna Clunen are just two of more than 500 Cal Lu students participating in off-campus internships this year. They’re also roommates. Business major Christy works for a “serial entrepreneur” whose companies embrace everything from treating sleep apnea to helping limo fleets switch to eco-friendly natural gas. Alanna is a multimedia/communication double-major interning at the nearby Reagan Presidential Foundation and Library—her third internship at CLU— where she works to create newsletters and interactive Web components for the Library.

"I had only been to the Reagan Library once before I started working there. When I started, it was amazing to see how big the place is and how much goes on in a single day - not to mention a whole week. There are so many events, so many guest speakers, and I'm doing exactly the sorts of projects I love to do. I feel special to be working some place that is so interesting and eventful."
