Transportation to campus on the day of the event is the responsibility of the student. Limited travel grants are available, you will be able to request more information at the time of registration.
Limited on-campus housing is available on Thursday night for students who wish to stay overnight. Priority for overnight accommodations is given to students from out-of-state. We cannot accommodate families on campus; however, there are a number of hotels in the Thousand Oaks area that offer discounts if you mention CLU when booking a room. For more information, please visit the Hotels & Accommodations page.

Professional attire is most appropriate for Honors Visit Day (slacks, dress shirts, skirts, etc.). If you are staying overnight, casual clothing is appropriate before the Friday event. Although average temperature for this time of year is the high 60's during the day; the evening can become cool and a jacket may be necessary.
While on campus, students will have one interview for the Presidential Scholarships. The Presidential Scholarships range up to full tuition for four years. Each interview will be with a member of our faculty and an administrator and will last approximately 20 minutes. The interview is an effort to get to know each student a little bit better. The interviewers will not be asking questions designed to mislead or confuse students. Questions in previous years have revolved around activities and interests; books, journals, or articles read outside of the classroom; what's happening in the world today; and an inspirational person.
Other activities include a roundtable discussion with current students and faculty; sessions on the University Honors Program, Undergraduate Research opportunities, and the Arts at CLU; a campus tour; sit in on a class; and up to two optional appointments with faculty, staff, or students.
