Exercise Mind and Body
Maybe it’s the weather.... Whatever the reason, CLU students are active. They bike. They snowboard. They play intramural football, basketball, soccer, softball and more, where the motto is "No pain, no free T-shirt." For varsity athletes, we offer NCAA Division III basketball, football, soccer, volleyball, and more. Dedicated coaches encourage and inspire 11 men’s and 11 women’s varsity teams.

The Intramural program at CLU is designed to combine physical, social, and recreational well-being by offering a diverse program of sports activities. Through the Intramural program, we encourage the participation of sport along with fellowship and healthy competition. We encourage students, faculty, and staff to enjoy and participate in the experience of good competition by emphasizing the value of sportsmanship that is fostered through the Intramural program.
Throughout the year this program offers students the opportunities to engage with their peers through a healthy competitive environment. Each semester several coed recreational league sports are offered as well as a variety of tournaments.
Every year the intramural season kicks off with the annual SandBlast volleyball tournament at Zuma Beach in Malibu. This event takes place after the opening week of school and allows for students to experience what this program is all about.
During the rest of the year there are similar tournaments that highlight recreational activities created to involve as many participants as possible from the campus community.
The spring semester features an extramural basketball tournament where other schools in the area are invited to compete in an intercollegiate intramural basketball tournament called the Kingsmen Shootout.
