Programs & Events
From "Cosmic Bowling" to "Comedy Night" at The Need Coffeehouse, there are plenty of ways to unwind after class. Club Lu — organized for students by students — happens every Friday night. And when you want to check out off-campus adventures, the Information Desk in the Student Union Building (SUB) sells half-price tickets to Magic Mountain and the latest release movies. Head to Los Angeles to catch a Broadway musical at the historic Pantages Theatre or go to a Lakers game — all at special subsidized ticket prices.
Regular Activities
Club Lu
A weekly event series co-sponsored by student government that takes place every Friday night at 9 p.m. The series features events like Cosmic Bowling, comedians, ice skating, restaurant nights and more. Celebrate the end of the week and hang out with friends.
The Need Coffeehouse
A student-run coffeehouse, which is open every Thursday night at 10 p.m. in the SUB. You can see a wide variety of entertainment throughout the year. From student performers to poetry jams, the Need has it all. And don't forget to enjoy some inexpensive coffee and espresso.
Get-Aways
Opportunities for you to get out and take advantage of Southern California are offered several times each semester. These excursions offer you subsidized tickets to sporting events, musicals and concerts.
Annual Activities
Involvement Fair
An opportunity during the first few weeks of school to find out about the different clubs and organizations on campus. You can meet club representatives and sign up to get involved.
Family Weekend
Hosted in the fall, this is an opportunity for you to invite your family to come see what your life is all about. Families get to attend a CLU sporting event, watch a musical/drama performance, and participate in a variety of other CLU activities.
Homecoming
One of the most exciting events of the year at CLU. You will find that in addition to the traditional football game, carnival and club night, CLU plans many events during the week to promote school spirit.
Midnight Madness
The official start of the basketball season for the Kingsmen and Regals. This event features exciting contests, performances by the dance team and cheer squad, crowd participation and a whole lot more!
Sophomore Year Experience
This event will help you get through the sophomore slump! Various speakers share tips for success during this program.
Christmas Festival
Come to the SUB to get your picture taken with Santa, make fun Christmas crafts and check out some great vendor booths.
Leadership Institute
This conference designed for CLU students to develop their leadership skills takes place in February. Past topics have included: time and money management, goal setting, creating personal mission statements, recruiting volunteers, and Christian leadership.
Senior Disorientation
Helps seniors understand more of what they will face after graduating and moving out into the "real world." Topics include apartment hunting, finances, and other aspects of this significant life transition.
