The Value of a CLU Education
When the time comes to make your final college decision, you'll probably be comparing costs as part of your evaluation. For each school you consider, remember to subtract the amount of financial aid from the total cost of attending in order to find your total out-of-pocket expenses. Don't assume that your out-of-pocket costs will be less at another college or university just because the "sticker price" is lower. An institution that costs less than CLU may not award the same financial aid package as CLU, which makes a big impact on your out-of-pocket costs.
The most critically important factor in computing total college expenses is the length of time you will take to graduate. The national average for first-year students graduating from the same college four years later is 17%. At CLU, 17% is just not good enough - so we have a system of checks and balances in place to ensure that our students will finish their degree in four years.
Small Classes, Large Residence Halls
Ultimately, you will need to consider the value of the education you choose for yourself. At CLU, we place a high priority on close faculty contact - professors teach all classes and advise all students. Classes are small which allows for discussion and investigative learning - the average class size is 22. And you'll be part of an active campus community with some of the largest, most comfortable residence halls anywhere filled with students who care about each other and where they're going in life.
What Do You Value?
You probably have additional reasons of your own which have led you to consider CLU, and you'll weigh each of these factors in making your final college choice. Remember that cost is only part of the picture. We do everything we can to award our financial aid monies in order to equitably help as many students as possible. Thousands upon thousands of CLU alumni can attest that affordability is achievable, and each one will tell you that what you get is so definitely worth it.
