About the speaker:

Dr. Beth Seidenberg focuses on life science investing in digital health and biotech and works with entrepreneurs to develop companies with breakthrough technology for treating patients and improving the delivery of healthcare. Since joining Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers in 2005, Seidenberg has incubated five companies and was the founding CEO of two. She serves on the board of directors of 3-V Biosciences, ARMO Biosciences, Breathe Technologies, FLX, Hixme, Kinsa, Mango Health, Practice Fusion, Progyny and True North; as well as three publicly traded companies: Atara Bio (ATRA), Epizyme (EPZM) and Tesaro (TSRO).

Seidenberg grew up in New York and received her bachelor's degree from Barnard College and her M.D. from the University of Miami. She completed her post-graduate training at Johns Hopkins University, George Washington University and the National Institutes of Health.

Outside of work, she loves to bike and can often be found on the weekends climbing Old La Honda Road in the hills near the office. She also enjoys golf, hiking, reading historical novels, and playing with her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Mattie-May. She and her husband, a retired labor lawyer, have two grown sons and a beautiful daughter-in-law.

Dan Peate will interview Dr. Seidenberg. Peate is founder and general partner of Peate Ventures. He also is the founder of DRIAV, founder and former CEO of Hixme, and previously held senior executive roles at Arthur J. Gallagher and Aon. He sits on the boards of DRIAV, CardiacDirect and Boom Studios. He and his wife, Coco, sit on several nonprofit and charitable boards. They currently reside in Thousand Oaks with their six children. Peate is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and was a Reagan intern.
