Class of 1972
Your Class Reps
Dear Class of ‘72,
Greetings from Alan and me, wherever you may be! We hope you are enjoying your summer.
Lots of news from CLU campus, as always; if you are in the area over the summer, do take the time to drive by and see all the changes that have taken place over the last few years. You might not recognize our old CLC.
The latest is the launching of the Elton and Janice Gallegly Center for Public Service and Civic Engagement which will be dedicated to preparing a new generation of leaders. It is a non-partisan program focusing on experiential learning opportunities at local, state and national level. They are going to be developing public servants of character and integrity through the Master’s in Public Policy and Administration program. (Now that’s something we can all get behind, I am sure!)
And for you Jocks out there…
There is a recently-launched Victory Club, for the many athletes who competed for, and who graduated from CLU who went on to become leaders in their communities. It is a way to bring together everyone who supports Cal Lu Athletics. Your financial support would help enhance the student athlete’s experience today with increased travel opportunities, improved facilities, equipment, and special program needs. Not only that… it could also be fun!
These are just a couple of news items for you to be aware of. There is so much more… just browse around the website and see. Also Save the Date for Homecoming, which is October 18-20, 2013. Our class does not have a reunion this year; our next one will be in 2017. But come to Homecoming anyway—you will be glad you did!
Please update the contact information we have on file for you. People who update their information before July 31st will be entered into a prize draw to win a 2 night stay at the Four Season’s Westlake Village over Homecoming weekend. Information can be updated using the following link: www.callutheran.edu/alumni/plugin/update-info.php
Our very best wishes to you all. Have a great summer.
Your Class Reps,
Becky France and Alan Virgil
