Karrolyne Fogel, Ph.D.
Associate Professor of Mathematics
Office: SBET 117
Dr. Fogel's mathematical background is in Algebraic Number Theory. While her research is related to Stark's Conjecture, she is particularly fond of elliptic curves, a mathematical construct that played a vital role in Andrew Wiles' 1994 proof of Fermat's Last Theorem (which remained unsolved for over 350 years!). Her more recent interests are in the Mathematics of Voting and Mathematics Education particularly at the elementary school level. When not pondering mathematics, she can be found looking up, for she is an avid fan of astronomy and has been known to spot Venus during the daytime.
