Valeria Makarova holds degrees in both business and science: MBA with emphasis in International Business from California Lutheran University, and Ph.D. in Biology from Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU), Russia.
She has 15 years of scientific research experience. Valeria held senior research position at the Department of Biophysics, MSU, Moscow, Russia; conducted research at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Golden, CO, USA; coordinated and supervised international research collaborations and held visiting positions at Universities in Europe and Asia.
Valeria is working to bridge the gap between industry and academia, and help growing successful businesses by identifying, developing and marketing innovative green/clean technologies.
Her professional interests also include support and promotion of sustainable and socially responsible business practices.
Dr. Makarova has developed and currently teaches elective courses for the MBA Sustainable Business professional track at the School of Management.
