Robin Slattum

Robin debuted as a young singing prodigy with a now legendary performance of Rockin Robin which shook the foundations of Northern California.  Too talented to be held down by the forests of Yreka, CA, this young bird took flight and came to California Lutheran University where she majored in music and voice.  She looks back on her performances from high school and college with great affection and fond memories: Peer Gynt, West Side Story, Candide, Oklahoma, Oliver, Marriage of Figaro, and Grease (Yes, that’s right.  Figaro and Grease.  Talk about range.).  After earning her degree, Robin continued following her passion joining the Los Robles Master Chorale, starting a Contemporary Praise Band at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, and of course, Arete for the last five years (which has become her therapy).

Outside the music halls and auditoriums, Robin has taught elementary school for twenty-two years, whipped one above average looking husband into shape, raised four wonderful children (none of whom are in prison, yet), two basset hounds, and one cat.  She’s come a long way since Rockin Robin, but she’s still happy she finds time to rock out.  While all of these things have filled her heart, it is singing which has filled her soul.  It’s a wonderful life.
