CLU Disability Awareness Week 2006
Keynote Speaker: Nick Vujicic

California Lutheran University's Disability Awareness Week 2006 "Breaking Barriers...Building Awareness" will feature internationaly recognized speaker Nick Vujicic. Born in Australia without limbs, Vujicic will conclude his speaking tour of the United States with his appearance at CLU.
Illustrated Lecture: An Ancient Athletic Trophy

Awarding a trophy cup to the winner of an athletic contest dates back centuries. The ancient Greeks, for example, presented their athletes decorated vases for all sorts of competitions. In his talk, Dr. Ernst F. Tonsing will examine one of these vases – a 2,500 year-old stemmed bell krator from the CLU art collection, compare it with other ceramic vases of the time, and ponder the social context and athletic competition for which it was made.
