Puerto Rico’s DIVEDCO Poster Art

Art in Service of the People

Beginning in 1949, Puerto Rico’s Division of Community Education, or DIVEDCO, screened original films on cultural heritage, health, public safety, democracy, literacy, inclusivity and civic participation for the island’s population.

This exhibit highlights posters that were produced to promote the films over four decades by some of Puerto Rico’s most celebrated graphic artists, including Lorenzo Homar, Rafael Tufiño, Antonio Maldonado, Carlos Raquel Rivera, Eduardo Vera Cortés, Rafael Delgado Castro and José Meléndez Contreras. All items have been generously loaned from the private collections of Thomas F. Anderson and Marisel C. Moreno.

Admission is free. The Kwan Fong Gallery, located in Soiland Humanities Center, is open to the public 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Parking lots are located at the corner of Mountclef Boulevard and Olsen Road.
