Paintings by Paz Winshtein
Paz Winshtein is a Southern California resident who studied drawing and painting at Laguna College of Art and Design and California Art Institute. His body of work consists mostly of oil paintings and ink drawings.
The human form is Winshtein's main vehicle of expression although animals and machines are also featured prominently. The technique of his oil paintings is a direct and simple application of paint using thick layers, so often the shapes and textures of the paint are just as important to the piece as the subject matter. His line drawings are less meticulous - free expressions of thought, clean and whimsical.
Admission is free. An artist's reception will be held Saturday, March 6, at 7 p.m. Sponsored by the Art Department.
