Faculty Concert - Chamber Music for Clarinet

Music Department faculty members Daniel Geeting, clarinet, Melissa Phelps, violin, Joyce Geeting, cello, and Eric Kinsley, piano, will perform clarinet chamber music works including Lutoslawski’s Dance Preludes, sections from Max Bruch's Eight Pieces and Bartok’s Contrasts. Also featured will be the CLU premiere performance of former faculty member Alex Miller’s Scarff Street Soliloquies.

Music professor Daniel Geeting has performed extensively, played on soundtracks for motion pictures and television, and recorded clarinet works of major composers. Phelps, who appeared as a soloist with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the age of 10, has performed with such artists as Itzhak Perlman, Luciano Pavarotti and The Moody Blues. Joyce Geeting has performed throughout the United States and Western Europe and has appeared on television and radio broadcasts. Kinsley has performed and lectured in venues including the Getty Center, the Huntington Library and the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.

Donations will be accepted.
