Race, Class and Gender in the 2012 Presidential Election
Caroline Heldman, Ph.D., chair of the Politics Department at Occidental College and a nationally known political commentator, will explore how race, class and gender affected voter decisions and the outcome of the 2012 presidential election.
Recognized for her expertise in American political campaigns, Heldman will present an analysis of the presidential election results. She co-edited the 2007 book “Rethinking Madam President: Are We Ready for a Woman in the White House?”
Published in the top journals in her field, Heldman's work has been highlighted in The New York Times, U.S. News and World Report, and Ms. magazine. She is also a political commentator for MSNBC, Fox Business News, RT America and Al Jazeera English.
