About Jim

Jim Cathcart, CSP, CPAE, is a strategic advisor and Hall of Fame professional speaker who is best known as the original author and main champion of Relationship Selling™. Two of his 16 published books have become international best sellers – Relationship Selling and The Acorn Principle. Cathcart is Cal Lutheran’s first Entrepreneur in Residence and has a long record of supporting the School of Management through his service on the Dean’s Advisory Council. 

As a serial entrepreneur, Cathcart has done start-ups, been a solopreneur, a partner, collaborator, licensor and licensee, served on numerous boards and has always been a salesman. Starting with his first official sales job in 1970, he has gone on to become one of the Top 50 Sales Influencers (2014) and was inducted into the Sales & Marketing Hall of Fame in December 2012 at a ceremony based in London and Paris.
