LANGUAGE TESTS:
Contact: Nova Schauss 805-493-3259 with all testing inquiries
Spanish/French/ German/Russian

The exam is administered on computers and is multiple choice.  There is no study guide available because its purpose is to assess your level of proficiency upon entering CLU.

If you are placed into 201 or higher, you do not have to take a language class at CLU to satisfy the CORE21 foreign language requirement but may continue studying the language at an advanced level if you choose to do so.

Placement exams are given during orientation and at the end of each semester.

Other Languages:
If you are proficient in another language besides the ones listed above (Spanish, German, French, & Russian), you may request a test in that language by filling out the following form: LANGUAGE TEST REQUEST FORM. You will be charged a fee of $50 to secure, order, proctor, and grade the exam.  These tests are for proficiency ONLY which means that you will be exempt from taking foreign language at CLU, but you will not receive any credits.
