Speakers will talk about the nature of the job, skills necessary to be successful in the field, salary information and personal advice on how to break into the field.

Sarah Holmes, Vice President: Frank N. Magid Associates
Sarah Holmes, Vice President at Frank N. Magid Associates, is based in their Los Angeles office. Sarah has been a driving force in shaping and growing strategic insights practice through application and execution of primary research. In her twelve years with the firm, she has played a critical role in leveraging the consumer voice to drive the development of our clients' brands and products. Sarah has spent her career developing expertise in the areas of Kids TV, Entertainment Programming, Gaming, and Internet/New Media by working with a wide variety of clients and companies – both industry giants and up-and-comers. Sarah’s clients have included Disney Channel, Apple, EA, Nestle, Logitech, Style Network, FOX, ABC Family, NBC Daytime, Disney Online, Disney Consumer Products, LATimes.com, Pogo.com, Warner Bros. Online, and CNET. Sarah has built trusted business partnerships across multiple industries, enabling her clients to successfully address such key issues as product and content development, branding, positioning, marketing, and overall business strategy. Sarah has been responsible for developing the skills and maintaining the qualitative research team across the Los Angeles and New York Magid offices. Prior to joining Frank N. Magid , Sarah graduated from California Lutheran University with a B.A. in Marketing Communications and a minor in Business Administration.
Jeff Moeller, Senior Director, Communications: Los Angeles Kings
Jeff Moeller is in his 17th season overall with the Kings and his fifth season as Senior Director of Communications. Previously serving as director, manager, coordinator and intern, he is active in guiding all facets of the club communications, publicity and publications factions, and editorial aspects of LAKings.com and the Kings Yearbook. Moeller represented the NHL at two All-Star Games (2000 in Tampa Bay and 2001 in Toronto) and served as a liaison between the Kings and the NHL at two major hockey events at STAPLES Center (2002 NHL All-Star Game and the 2010 NHL Entry Draft). He also was a part of the club's traveling squad to the 2007 NHL Premiere Series contests (Salzburg, Austria and London, England) and again in 2011 (Hamburg and Berlin, Germany; Stockholm, Sweden). Previously he worked several major accounts for a local sports public relations/marketing firm, including Super Bowl XXXI and both Tyson-Holyfield championship bouts in Las Vegas. He also has experience as a PR game assistant for the Lakers and Angels, and at KCBS-TV. His writing has also been published in nearly 40 magazines, newspapers and websites, and in 2005 he wrote and produced the Kings’ first children’s book, “Kyrsten and her Kings” for the Kings Care Foundation. He is also in his second year teaching a Sports Public Relations course at USC and is a graduate of California Lutheran University (1995).
Margaret Morales, Executive Production Coordinator: Bunim/Murray Productions
Margaret graduated from CLU in 2010 with a B.A. in Communication with a double emphasis in Media Production and Public Relations. Margaret started at BMP in the summer of 2009 as an intern and then was hired as the Human Resources Assistant in May of 2010. At the beginning of 2011, Margaret was promoted to a Staffing Associate within the HR department where she was responsible for hiring all of the company's new freelance and corporate employees. In August of 2011, Margaret left HR and became a Release Coordinator for Oxygen's "Best Ink", where she is responsible for all of the show's rights and clearances issues. In October, Margaret took on a second job as a Casting Coordinator for Oxygen's "The Bad Girls Club", where she assisted in planning open calls around the country, screening applicants and writing background checks. In January, Margaret got offered the job of Executive Production Coordinator and currently assists the VP of Production in creating all show budgets and calendars.
Willa Sandmeyer, Correspondent: Weekend Voice
Willa has spent more than 30 years in broadcasting, working in both radio and television. She began her career in Walla Walla, Washington, in radio. Later she moved to Southern California and made the transition to television, working at KEYT-TV in Santa Barbara. She began working in Los Angeles at KCAL-TV in 1990. She also worked for KCBS, Channel 2 but spent the bulk of her television career with KTLA, Channel 5. Her work has been recognized with several Emmy awards for live reporting, as well as awards from the Los Angeles Press club. During her career she has had the privilege of interviewing two U-S presidents, secretary of state Madeline Albright and many California governors as well as numerous state legislators. She has also interviewed death camp survivors, skid row residents and gang members-- being a reporter exposes you to a wide range of people. She currently work as a correspondent for a faith-based national radio program, Weekend Voice. She is a longtime resident of the Conejo Valley but grew up on the East Coast in the Washington, DC area.
