4A Cause

Nonprofit Internship Program

The “4A Cause” Experiential Learning Internship Program gives students the opportunity to work with a nonprofit organization that they feel passionate about helping. Organizations in many areas including: social justice, animal rights, public policy, environmental, social issues, mental health, healthcare, education, and more.

This program will provide students with new skills essential to career development, along with a new understanding of community efforts going on in the "real world". Students receive a mandatory initial training called Classroom to Career on how to be effective in the workplace, and an awards ceremony takes place at the conclusion of the program. Students build their resumes with experience while learning more about advocacy in the surrounding community.  In addition, studies confirm experiential learning internships can lead to other assignments and future work or projects for the student.

The program lasts at least 12 weeks, with a minimum of 10 hours required each week. Most interns work 10-20 hours a week. Internships are unpaid.
