Meet the People
Director, Center for Academic Service-Learning
Louise A. Kelly, Ph.D. firstname.lastname@example.org
An assistant professor of the Exercise Science department, Dr. Kelly currently serves as Director of CLU’s Center for Academic Service-Learning.
Dr. Kelly believes that serving her community is one of her highest callings, and has a growing passion for building community partnerships. Through one of her most recent courses in criminology, an academic service-learning course in the criminal justice and legal studies department, she partnered with six community-based organizations, including ZOE Children (a global anti-child-trafficking organization), the Ventura County Rescue Mission, House of Many Mansions in Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley Boys and Girls Club, and Prototypes in Oxnard (through CLU's Community Service Center). Several of her students have renewed their commitments to serve their communities by remaining active with these non-profits.
