About the Institute

The Institute carries out its purpose by organizing colloquia, conferences, curriculum development, speaker series, and workshops. This institute currently hosts four working groups:

  1. Immigration and Global Cities
  2. Religion and Global Change
  3. Global Media
  4. Diversity and Educational Excellence

Examples of potential collaborations between these working groups and community groups would be event planning between the Immigration and Global Cities group and CAUSE, and the Religion and Global Change group with CLUE. In a period of rapid globalization and identity politics, the Institute for Identity and Globalization offers a means to introduce conversation between globalization and threats to tradition cultural, religious, and ethnic identities, as well as, the manipulations of wage labor.
