Richard Derderian, Department of History.

Richard Derderian is an Assistant Professor in the Department of History at California Lutheran University. He received his PhD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1997. He published North Africans in Contemporary France (Palgrave, 2004) and has articles in Radical History Review, Asia-Europe Journal, Journal of Contemporary French Civilization, Journal of Maghrebi Studies and book chapters in Post-colonial Cultures in Contemporary France, Approaching Transnationalisms, The Geopolitics of Globalization, Postcolonial Urbanisms, Algeria & France: Memory, Identity and Nostalgia. He is currently working on a history of the Vietnamese in France.
Jose Marichal is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at California Lutheran University. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Colorado in 2003. His areas of teaching and research interest include public deliberation and policymaking, social networking and community development, civic engagement and race/ethnic politics. His current research focus examines the relationship between university efforts to promote racial and ethnic diversity and university efforts to promote civic engagement. His work has appeared in Policy Studies Review, Race Gender and Class and Urban Affairs Review. Currently he is a board member of El Concilio del Condado de Ventura and is chair of the Ventura County Latino HIV/AIDS Social Mapping Task Force.

Dr. Rainer Diriwächter is a native of Switzerland and has a strong background in the history of German psychology. He has published several articles and book chapters that highlight the contributions of "Ganzheitspsychologie" - the German empirical holistic approach to psychology. His current research interests focus on emotional experiences and the phenomenon of microgenesis. At present, Dr. Diriwächter is working on two edited international volumes scheduled to be published towards the end of 2007. The first volume outlines holistic approaches to psychology; the second volume discusses microgenetic methodology. Dr. Diriwächter is also the editor of the newly founded Journal of Integrated Social Sciences (JISS.org) and currently serves as editorial board member of the following peer-reviewed journals: Culture & Psychology, Integrative Physiological and Behavioral Science (IPBS), and the Journal of Social, Evolutionary, and Cultural Psychology (JSEC). At CLU, he is the faculty advisor to Psi Chi (the national honor society in psychology) and teaches the following classes: The History of Psychology, Understanding Emotions, Cultural Psychology, and General Psychology.
