Special Senior Information
Caps and Gowns, Graduation Invitations and Class Rings
Order forms for caps, gowns, personalized announcements and class rings will be available at the Bookstore, Professionals and Graduate Enrollment offices. A Jostens (1-800-353-5299) representatives will be on campus early Spring semester to take class ring and graduation invitation orders (exact date to be determined).
Deadlines for Cap and Gown purchasing:
Standard processing by: March 31st. After that, $5 late fee until April 19th. $10 late fee from the 21st till the 26th of April. $15 late fee from the 28th till May 3rd. $20 late fee from May 5th till Commencement, please note after this date it may be too late to order missing sizes, items, etc. in time to arrive for the ceremony.
Graduation is nearing. As a senior, it's natural to begin reflecting on your college experience. Consider how your Cal Lutheran experience has influenced your life's journey … the fun times as well as the challenging times, and of course the people who were there for you along the way! We know you have important things to say, and we hope you'll consider the opportunity to share those thoughts with your peers at graduation. Did you know that any Cal Lutheran student who meets the requirements to walk/participate in graduation (to be held Sat., May 17, at 10 am) is qualified to submit an application to be considered for the 2014 commencement speaker? It could be you!
We encourage you to submit a 3 minute speech that connects to the larger campus community and responds to the following prompt using the form below. (Helpful hint: timing is everything. A 3-minute speech is approximately 1.5 pages, double-spaced.)
If public speaking isn't your thing, make sure you encourage a friend who you think would do an awesome job!
Submissions will be accepted through end of the day on March 10.

The tickets must be presented at the Accessibility Seating area gate on the day of commencement.
During the Commencement ceremony all personal photographs and videos must be taken from designated areas. A professional photographer will be taking pictures of the graduates receiving diplomas. Proofs will be sent directly to your CLU email address. (Ultimate Exposures, Inc., 818-781-9530, www.ultimateexposures.com)) A video will also be available. Flowers will be sold at the Chapel and outside the entrance to Rolland Stadium during the day's activities. Rose and orchid corsages, bouquets and leis will sold on a cash-and-carry basis. A percentage of the proceed will go to CLU Student Programs.
Food and Beverages
Food and beverage items may be purchased at The Purple People Eater Food Trailer which is located near the main stadium entrance. No food or beverages, other than water, can be brought into the stadium. The Departmental Receptions will begin immediately following the Commencement ceremony in the Lundring Events Center and Gilbert Arena.
Commencement Day Tips
Arrive early! Parking and seating are on a first-come, first-server basis. The weather can be unpredictable. Since Commencement takes place outdoors, please consider the weather when planning for the day. Suggested items to bring include hats, sunscreen, sunglasses, blankets, umbrellas and water. The graduates will be recessing to University Plaza between the Rolland Stadium and the Gilbert Sport and Fitness Center after the ceremony. It is best to confirm with them prior to the ceremony a place to meet after the ceremony.
