SUICIDE PREVENTION

If you, or someone you know is considering committing suicide, please consult the EMERGENCY INFO tab of this website.

If the person considering suicide is a CLU student, it is best to help that person come to the Student Counseling Services (SCS) center to receive immediate, confidential help during our open hours.  Feel free also to call SCS when it is open (805-493-3727) to consult with a counselor for help.

When SCS is closed, there are a number of resources to turn to in order to help someone deal with suicidal thoughts. For immediate help, you can contact the Ventura County Behavioral Health Mobile Crisis Team, at 866-998-2243.

For information and resources to help both the person in distress and the people trying to help, go online to ulifeline.com.

Two other great sources of assistance and information about suicide prevention are the Jed Foundation and The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

Other Resources

In addition to the Student Counseling Services center at CLU, the campus Health Services center and the Wellness Programs office within Student Life are here to help you and provide information, treatment and/or referrals for treatment.
