Programs in Teacher Education
The program is divided into three distinct stages of course work: Foundations, Methods, and Full-Time Student Teaching. Course work taken at the graduate level applies toward the master's degree.
Teacher Education programs are offered in collaboration with local educators and are heavily field-based to provide extensive experience in diverse school settings under the guidance of outstanding educators.
Individuals who complete a teacher preparation program and are issued a five-year Preliminary Multiple or Single Subject Credential must earn a Clear Credential.
The Reading Certificate Program is designed to assist the teacher in developing additional expertise in the teaching of reading and provides eligibility for the CTC-issued certificate.
These courses can be taken alone or as one of the specializations within the M.Ed. Program. Courses provide eligibility for a CTC-issued Supplementary Authorization.
The M.Ed. in Teacher Leadership prepares individuals for teacher leadership roles in educational settings. It is for active classroom teachers who want to expand their knowledge of the teaching field and enhance their own practice.
