Michael Lynn Adams ’72 is a contemporary realist painter. A graduate of California Lutheran University, he was nominated in 2012 by the editors of Fine Art Connoisseur, Southwest Art, and American Art Collector magazines Adams to participate in prestigious Artists for the New Century exhibition in Bennington. VT. Adams’ works are in many private collections throughout the United States. Noted in American Art Collector, “Adams’ work has a luminous quality; emanating a quiet glow on the gallery wall. Collectors are mesmerized and drawn to each of the works, moving from each jewel-like painting, basking in the reflected light.”
Adams is the co-founder and director of The Representational Art Conference 2014 (TRAC2014), an international academic conference, hosted by CLU’s Art Department, that examines the rise of representational art in the 21st Century, its impact on higher education and its broader cultural influence.
The Los Angeles, California resident is a member of the International Guild of Realism and Portrait Society of America as well as an associate member of the Oil Painters of America (OPA) and California Art Club. His paintings have been exhibited in national and international shows, including Salon International, OPA National and OPA Western Regional shows.
In addition to his art career Adams directed the marketing graphics program for CLU; he created and still designs Cal Lutheran's alumni magazine, CLU Magazine; and he was co-creator and served on the first faculty of the CLU Multimedia program.
