Dr. Balcerzak has over 38 years of cliinical experience in the public and private sectors. She teaches Research Analysis and Synthesis; Psychopharmacoloy, Diagnostic and Therapeutic Interviewing, and Family Violence in the California Lutheran University Marriage and Family Therapy Masters Degree Program. Dr. Bakcerzak has taught in the Psychology Department at Ventura College for 15 years. She oversees Doctoral programs in Social Work and Marriage & Family Therapy at International University for Graduate Studies, in ther Eastern Caribbean. From 2001 to 2009, Judith designed and implemented the Human Services Certificate and Degree Programs at Ventura College, Ventura CA. She has provided clinical supervision to MFT and LCSW interns and trainees since 1985. Dr. Balcerzak developed and managed Community First Counseling Center in Ventura, CA from 2003 to 2013. Her experience includes fifteen years in health care administration in Ventura County. Born and raised in Michigan, where she completed her undergraduate degree at Michigan State University and her Masters in Social Work, Dr. Balcerzak moved to California in 1980. She sings in two commmunity choirs and studies piano. Dr. Balcerzak's background includes a deep commitment to human rights and social justice. An avid scuba diver and sailor, Judith divides her time between California and Dominica in the Eastern Caribbean.

Specializations include: addictions treatment and prevention; treating mood and anxiety disorders, women's issues, workplace problems; organizational consulting; curriculum development; and career planning.

Grant Funding

Dr. Balcerzak has authored numerous grants for Community First Counseling Center (2003-2013) which received generous grant funds from the Swift Memorial Health Care Fund and Wells Fargo Bank.
