Jon Myers comes to CLU with over 15 years of professional and executive experience in public relations, marketing communications and political and government communications. Myers is the owner of a locally based public relations and communications agency providing service to a variety of industries including publishing, non-profits, environmental and government. Prior to opening his own boutique public relations agency, he served in a variety of communication positions with the State of California including the California Environmental Protection Agency and the California Victim Compensation and Government Claims Board. Myers was appointed to these state positions by then Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger after his work on the historical 2003 Recall Campaign. Myers served in other government capacities as well including Special Assistant to the Mayor of San Diego and Sr. Policy Advisor to a member of the San Diego County Board of Supervisors. Myers has also provided invaluable public relations and government affairs services to many clients while working for some of San Diego’s finest public relations firms.
In addition to his government and public relations agency experience, Myers was President of the California Capital Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and served on the board for several years. Myers teaches courses in public relations at CLU.
