Richard G. Heller, J.D., Ph.D.

Adjunct Faculty Member


Richard G. Heller, J.D., Ph.D., is a new adjunct faculty member who will be teaching “Law and Public Policy” in our Masters in Public Policy and Administration Program. Richard is a graduate of the University of Southern California, where he received his undergraduate and graduate degrees (including his M.S.B.A., J.D., and Ph.D.).

Upon retiring from the KPMG LLP professional partnership (one of the world’s largest international public accounting and consulting firms, where he specialized in international taxation), Richard returned to the USC campus to study economics, political science, and public policy. In 2001, he received his Ph.D. from USC’s School of Policy, Planning, and Development.

In addition to his professional work, for more than fifteen years Richard served USC as an adjunct faculty member teaching courses in USC’s Gould School of Law, Graduate School of Business Administration, and School of Policy, Planning, and Development. He and his wife (Velvet) live on a small ranch in Ojai, CA, with horses, dogs, and sheep. Richard is also an avid boater and a public education instructor for the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary.
