James Welch, Ed.D.
Adjunct Faculty Member
Dr. Welch has held Director level and Senior management positions where he was part of the Executive management team. These included positions in Test and Product Support Engineering, as well as marketing assignments in product documentation and web design with Intel, Xircom, Trillium Digital Systems, and Micom Systems. His responsibilities included forecasting and managing multimillion dollar asset and personnel budgets. Also he managed multiple departments where he mentored the managers and senior engineers. Along with these responsibilities Dr. Welch has facilitated classes within academia (high school and college), as well as training adults within profit and non-profit organizations (Sales, Engineering, HR, and Leadership).
Dr. Welch was granted a doctorate in Organizational Leadership from Pepperdine University, a MBA from California Lutheran University and a BA in History (minor in Biology) from California State University, Fullerton. Dr. Welch also has a California Standard Secondary Teaching Credential (Life) and was a sworn California State Park Peace Officer.
Dr. Welch has expertise in several areas:
1. Critical Thinking and the development of problem solving skills.
2. Management and leadership training and assessment.
3. Development of scholarly writing, doctoral writing, and technical writing skills.
