Profile

Nelson Pizarro is an Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship at the School of Management at California Lutheran University (CLU) in Thousand Oaks, California (United States), and founder of EcoStatic Inc. His areas of specialty include entrepreneurship, innovation & creativity, new venture creation, business planning, strategy, business modeling and international marketing.

Before joining CLU he was an Assistant Professor of Management at California State University in Chico, California. He also was a member of the faculty at The Evergreen State College. In addition, he has taught at the University de la Sabana in Bogota, Colombia. He founded six companies. In April of 2012, he launched EcoStatic Inc. He has conducted business in 46 countries. He also has experience in a corporate environment working for multinational companies such as Brother international. In the government sector, he worked for AmeriCorps as a full-time volunteer, Miami Dade College, and at the City of Gainesville, Florida.

He is a member of the Academy of Management and U.S. Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship.

Education

He has a bachelor’s degree from Washington State University, a Master in Business Administration from University of Florida and a doctorate in Management from Grenoble Ecole de Management.

Dr. Pizarro has published articles in leading academic journals including the Economies Et Societes. He has also presented papers at the International Council for Small Business World Conference in Stockholm, Sweden (ICSB 2011) and at the U.S. Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship, Hilton Head Island, SC. (2011).
