Loan Counseling

The U.S. Department of Education requires that students who borrow Federal Stafford Loans complete both Entrance and Exit Loan Counseling. Please see the information below on each type of counseling and follow the link to begin counseling. If you have any questions about Loan Counseling, please contact the Financial Aid Office.

Entrance Counseling

Students must complete entrance counseling before the school can make the first disbursement of the federal student loan. This helps you to understand your rights and responsibilities regarding your loan. You can complete the entrance counseling online at the www.StudentLoans.gov website.

Exit Counseling

Students who have borrowed a Federal Stafford Loan at CLU must complete exit counseling before graduating or otherwise leaving school. You may complete your Stafford Loan Exit Counseling online at the www.nslds.ed.gov website.

You will need your Social Security number, PIN number, and the name and addresses of your nearest relative and two personal references to complete the session.

When you have finished your Stafford Loan Exit Counseling, remember to print your completion certificate. If you need to get a Separation Form signed for Financial Aid, all you need to do is bring your completion certificate into the Financial Aid Office and our Front Desk representative will be able to sign off.
