September 16 - October 15, 2013

Same-sex married couples may now be added to CLU benefit plans


Effective September 16, 2013, federal tax provisions will be the same for both opposite-sex and same-sex legally married couples.

CLU will conduct a special open enrollment for legally married same-sex couples to add their spouse to our benefit plans. From Monday, September 16th through Tuesday, October 15th, employees who are legally married will be able to add their same-sex spouse. Proof of marriage documentation is required. All completed documents must be returned to the Human Resources office, MC #1100, no later than 5pm, Tuesday, October 15, 2013.

To add your same-sex spouse to the medical, dental, and/or vision plans, you must complete the appropriate forms.

Premiums for the benefit plan(s) you elect will be deducted from your paycheck on a pre-tax basis, treated the same as opposite-sex married couples currently on the benefit plan(s).
