Religion - College of Arts and Sciences
Basic Function
California Lutheran University’s Department of Religion invites applications for a tenure track position (assistant professor) to begin August, 2014. Candidates should have a completed Ph.D. by that date, training in social-scientific methodologies, and a focus in Global Christianity or Global Islam. In addition, the successful candidate will incorporate innovative pedagogies, demonstrate excellence in teaching, seek collegial opportunities for interdisciplinary work, and be committed to the study of religion in a Liberal Arts institution at an ELCA related University. The typical teaching load is 6 courses per year (3 per semester), including 3 courses in an area of expertise and 3 courses of CLU’s general education Religion requirement, “Introduction to Christianity.”
