Basic Function
California Lutheran University ( invites applications for a visiting position in Computer Science/Information Technology. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses, including advanced database management, data mining, and big data analytics and infrastructure (based on technologies such as Hadoop and NoSQL) as well as computer security, graphical user interface, software engineering. The position will commence in August 2014. Candidates with a PhD in computer science or a related field are preferred. The successful candidate should demonstrate evidence of high-quality teaching, ideally a good research profile as well as the capacity for collegial service including student advising. California Lutheran University offers various computer-related programs in their traditional undergraduate computer science program (School of Arts and Sciences), their graduate computer science and Information Technology programs (School of Management) and the Bachelor Degree for Professionals (adult learning). The visiting professor is expected to teach computer science/Information Technology courses across these three programs.
