Hiring Range: $40,000 - $43,000Basic Function
Under the direction of the Associate Director of the Adult Degree Evening Program, plan, coordinate and implement recruitment activities that will support program growth at the Woodland Hills Center. Conduct admission interviews for prospective students and offer academic counseling for matriculating students.Representative Duties
• Plan, coordinate and implement ADEP recruitment activities.• Build relationships with community colleges and businesses in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties and make presentations at information meetings and exhibits; participate in college and corporate fairs
• Conduct admission interviews for prospective ADEP students.
• Evaluate transcripts, interpret transfer course equivalencies, advise students on core requirements and available majors.
• Maintain admission files and enrollment records.
• Provide academic advisement and counseling for ADEP students and assistance with developing degree completion plans.
• Respond to inquiries from prospective and matriculating students; complete appropriate forms; make, receive and respond to various telephone calls; respond to inquiries regarding application status, admissions process and related matters.
• Develop routine letters and other correspondence as needed.
• Interpret and explain financial aid policies and opportunities.
• Plan and host information sessions and receptions as necessary.
• Communicate with university personnel and others to coordinate activities and programs, resolve issues and conflicts and exchange information.
• Provide work direction and training to assigned staff.
• Attend staff and various meetings as assigned and as needed.
• Must be willing to work during the evening and on some weekends
• Perform related duties as assigned.
Knowledge Of
Laws, codes, ethics regulations, policies and procedures related to assigned activities.Computer and academic computer systems applicable to admissions and record-keeping.
Counseling methods and skills.
Interviewing techniques.
Marketing concepts and strategies
Oral and written communication skills.
Interpersonal skills, using tact, patience and courtesy.
Ability To
Plan and coordinate ADEP admission and recruitment activities.Handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Develop degree plans for adult students.
Assist in developing various publications and other materials.
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Make presentations to large audiences.
Interpret, apply and explain rules, policies and procedures.
Establish and maintain cooperation and effective working relationships with others.
Operate a computer and assigned office equipment.
Meet time lines.
Plan and organize work.
Work independently with little direction.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s preferred and two years of increasingly responsible experience in education or related fields.Application Procedure
