Hiring Range: $60,000 - $67,000
Basic Function
Provide information regarding the University to prospective students; travel to various cities to recruit students and make presentations to high schools and community colleges; interview students, review applications for admission, select qualified applicants, make recommendations and execute decisions regarding admissions and awarding of scholarships; provide leadership to admission operations including but not limited to budget management and analysis, support staff and student employee management and supervision, staff training and professional development, department policies and procedures development and evaluation, interpretation and analysis of statistical data reports, and communication/marketing material development and revision. This position reports to the Director of Undergraduate Admission.
Representative Duties
• Participate in all aspects of undergraduate recruitment, including conducting both group information sessions and individual interviews, visiting high schools, attending regional and national college fairs, and hosting college counselor programs. E
• Plan and implement ongoing professional development activities and new employee training.
• Read and evaluate applications for admission; assure applicant credentials meet qualifications for admission; select qualified applicants, make recommendations regarding admissions and awarding of academic scholarships.
• Serve on admission review committee to determine final admission decisions and awarding of academic scholarships. E
• Meet with prospective students individually; respond to questions or concerns of students; follow up with students as needed. E
• Communicate with prospective students and parents via telephone, electronic, and print methods; respond to inquiries regarding scholarships, financial aid, admissions process and related matters. E
• Develop, evaluate, and alter department policies and procedures consistent with admission profession governing regulations; oversee day-to-day operations.
• Manage and supervise administrative support staff; oversee management of student employee and intern program
• Monitor and analyze admission budgets, helping to set budget allocations and payment protocol.
• Coordinate new employee searches including screening and interviewing candidates for employment.
• Assist in the development, maintenance and execution of the department’s communication plan to prospective and admitted students.
• Prepare, maintain, and analyze statistical data reports related to assigned activities. E
• Operate a computer, copier, fax and other office equipment as assigned. E
• Other programmatic duties as assigned by the Director.

Support recruitment activities in specialized initiatives, which may include but are not limited to: community relations, top recruited athletes, financial aid and scholarships, programming and events, quality control, strategic planning, multicultural recruitment, and professional development.
Manage and supervise team of administrative support staff and student employees.
Interview students, read applications, select qualified candidates and make recommendations/decisions regarding admissions and awarding of scholarships.
Prepare and deliver oral presentations.
Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
Attention to detail and effective organization.
Interpret and evaluate results to develop or alter department policies and procedures.
Operate a computer and other office equipment.
Manage and reconcile expenditures on behalf of the University; obtain and maintain a University credit card.
Manage an operations budget and make recommendations for budget allocations.
Lead projects, committees, and task groups as assigned.
Interpret, apply, and explain rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Education and Experience
Master’s degree preferred.
Five years experience as an admission professional or seven years combined admission and educational field experience.
Environment
ENVIRONMENT:
Office environment.
Driving a vehicle to conduct work.
Some evening and weekend work required.
