Position TitleAssistant Program Director/Producer
Salary ($US) and BenefitsHiring Range: $25.71 - $26.44
Basic FunctionThe Assistant Program Director/Producer will assist, and report to, the Program Director. Responsibilities include producing a one-hour weekly program, booking guests, assisting with scheduling, editing, programming for broadcast, anchoring live programs as needed, producing promos and underwriting credits, creating daily logs, representing KCLU at promotional events, assembling newscasts, taking news feeds, creating and maintaining content for the KCLU website, training/overseeing on-air volunteers, programming automation system, assisting program director with special projects, other duties as assigned.
Representative DutiesBook guests for daily public affairs program and work effectively and appropriately with host(s) and KCLU sales representative(s).
Schedule and edit programming for broadcast as directed.
Anchor live programs as needed including morning and/or evening drive programs.
Program automation system.
Produce promos and underwriting credits.
Create daily logs and use traffic program effectively.
Attend promotional events as required.
Take news and program feeds.
Create and maintain content for KCLU website and social media, update as needed.
Train on-air volunteers and oversee volunteer performance.
Assist program director and general manager as needed.

Education and ExperienceAny combination equivalent to: Bachelor’s degree in communication arts or related field and five years increasingly responsible experience in radio.

Seeing to read various materials.
Sitting for extended periods of time.
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard.
Bending at the waist, kneeling or crouching to retrieve or store materials.
