Going Mobile -- Everyone's Doin' It

Why does Cal Lutheran care? Institutions of higher learning are rapidly moving toward delivering content formatted for the mobile device; for example, campus maps, personnel directories, event calendars, and even library research databases are popular topics. Check out the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill site for the URL to access their content especially formatted for mobile device delivery.

Email on Your Mobile Device:

This Issue’s Techno Term:
Term:  pod slurping
Definition: downloading large quantities of data to a mobile device, such as an MP3 player;
while often defined as an illicit activity in the USA, the term was chosen as Australia´s Macquarie Dictionary's word of the year for 2007
Example in a sentence:   Pod slurping can supply many hours of listening entertainment; unfortunately, unscrupulous persons have been known to exploit the technology for illegal activities.
