The Future Treps Ed Jam is a unique opportunity for anyone interested in making a difference. We will be focusing on improving the educational system in Ventura County.

From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., we will come together and implement a service design thinking approach to develop new action-oriented ideas to address the academic achievement gap in the local community.

Our Ed Jam will be a fun, fast-paced, and action-oriented day like a start-up weekend or Hackathon slimmed down to one day, where participants from all over the communal spectrum – entrepreneurs, students, faculty, community members, professionals, and the like – use a design process to develop new ideas into prototypes. Our focus will be on taking action and doing, rather than simply discussing, in order to implement ideas and create solutions.

This Ed Jam is a great way to learn about Service Design and Design Thinking in a fun and productive environment, applying the methods and tools to a real-life challenge. Beyond just the ideas, thinking process, and prototypes that will be developed at the Ed Jam, you will walk away with new friends, contacts, and skill sets.

The Future Treps Ed Jam doesn’t aim to solve education in Ventura County, rather to start conversation, nurture ideas, and connect people who, in working together, can begin solving seemingly insurmountable issues.
