Renee S. Rock, M.A.
Reneé Rock has taught in the CLU undergraduate and MBA programs since 2007. Prior to joining the CLU faculty, she held joint faculty positions at Cal State Northride and management positions in corporate communications in technology, aerospace, nonprofit consulting, and venture capital industries. She is a visiting professor at the University of Berlin and Woodbury Univerity.
Reneé founded her first company, Khamillion Cosmetics, at the age of 22. She went on to found two more companies between 1986 and 1994. An early pioneer in digital content, she served as e-business communications specialist in corporate communications for Honeywell Aerospace and as managing director of business development for Summit Venture Strategies from 2002 to 2007. During her tenure at SVSG, Reneé served as interim vice president of marketing and business development at several start-up companies.
Reneé is an accomplished innovation strategist and is adept at creating new revenue streams for start-up companies. She is the president of her own start-up mentoring company and develops business plans for growth-stage companies. She has coached both growth and early-stage entrepreneurs on high-impact presentations and team communication. Her research interests include corporate communication strategies, intercultural communication, entreprenuerial rhetoric, visioning, ideation, divergent and convergent thinking, effectual entrepreneurship, and innovation community develpment.
