To some, the book about a youth traveling down the Mississippi with a runaway slave is an American classic that seeks to tell the world the evil truths about the institution of slavery. To others, it's racism at its worse.

If the words hadn't been so sincere, Cal Lutheran women's volleyball coach Kellee Roesel would have burst out laughing. In a preseason meeting with All-America middle blocker Mo Coverdale, the senior told Roesel her main goal was "just to be a starter."

Craig Rond didn't even bother filling out his portion of the ballot. The Cal Lutheran men's water polo coach voted for the All-America players, but he left the section for Coach of the Year blank.
